Join us on Monday, June 17 from 6 PM - 8 PM at the Mayor’s Reception Hall, as we extend a warm welcome to our new Executive Director, Tonya McClary. Come and discover more about her background and her aspirations for Civilian Oversight in Philadelphia. We’ll also highlight CPOC’s achievements and discuss our ongoing efforts to enhance community-police relations. Reverend Mark Tyler will lead a Q&A session with Director McClary, and afterward, we invite you to join us for a reception in Conversation Hall.

Civilian oversight of the Philadelphia Police Department.

The mission of the Citizens Police Oversight Commission (CPOC) is to serve the community by helping to improve the relationship between the police and the community.

CPOC:

Analyzes the policies, practices, and customs of the Philadelphia Police Department
Reviews police department policies and procedures
Holds public meetings to discuss issues around police matters
Provides recommendations on how to improve the police department with the mayor, city managing director, and police commissioner
