- The Public Works & Infrastructure Committee approved the Hennepin Avenue S. Reconstruction Project layout after a compromise was reached between city council members, Public Works and the Mayor’s Office on ensuring at least 6 hours daily of dedicated transit lanes. Council Members Aisha Chughtai, Robin Wonsley and Elliot Payne all expressed frustration that they were unable to approve 24/7 bus lanes due to Mayor Jacob Frey’s veto and the lack of a veto proof majority of 9 council members. The item still needs to be passed by the full council.
- The committee also held a public hearing on snow and ice removal assessments with several residents voicing concerns related to the lack of notice given as well as the unaffordable cost of removal services billed to them by the city.
