Ok, my mistake. The meeting starts at 9:30, not 9. It starts with closed session. I'll tweet again soon.
Will Reynolds @willinois 4/17
The Illinois Gaming Board comes to order right on time at 9:30. They go into closed session. The agenda lists 5 items they plan to discuss. Open session will start at 10:30 or soon after.
Will Reynolds @willinois 5/17
The Illinois Gaming Board comes back from closed session at 10:40.
During closed session I started a load of laundry, did a short yoga session and practiced a Johnny Cash song I'm learning on banjo. Broadcasted public meetings are the best!

For the administrator's report, he reminds people that monthly gaming reports are on the website.

There are no public comments.
Will Reynolds @willinois 7/17
Staff introduce regulation and licensing of video gaming sales agents and brokers following enactment of a new state law.

The rules are approved without debate.
Will Reynolds @willinois 8/17
Next, a presentation by Hollywood Casino Joliet for their license renewal.

Will Reynolds @willinois 11/17
In response to a board member question, casino staff talk about their efforts to have a diverse workforce and vendors.

The administrator recommends license renewal. There's no debate and it's approved.
Will Reynolds @willinois 12/17
The gaming board approves multiple occupational licenses, including one for DraftKings at Casino Queen.
Will Reynolds @willinois 13/17
They approve more licenses for employees and businesses on the agenda without debate.

The licensing period for video gaming has changed under a new law. More licenses are approved and one denied on recommendation of the administrator.
Will Reynolds @willinois 14/17
Two licensees are recommended for non-renewal. One person was found guilty of a felony. One failed to pay a fine.

119 video gaming location applications are approved. Five denied.
Will Reynolds @willinois 15/17
A proposal to put six video gaming locations at Hometown Mall is rejected. The gaming board chair said it's essentially a mini-casino, which is not the intent of the law. This is apparently the second time they've tried.
Will Reynolds @willinois 16/17
Licenses approved for Kay's Place at multiple locations downstate.

Staff recommend two non-renewals, including Capone's in South Beloit. They were shut down by the health department for ignoring COVID protocols multiple times and violated the smoking ordinance.
Will Reynolds @willinois 17/17
The Illinois Gaming Board adjourns without discussing a proposed Chicago casino that has been in the news. This concludes my live tweeting for #CHIDocumenters
